Carlito not expected back with WWE, returns to Puerto Rico
The WWE Universe might be saying "not cool" as veteran wrestler Carlito has announced he is not expected to return to the company once his current contract expires later this month. The news broke on Sunday, with Carlito himself confirming the reports via a post on social media.
Carlito, known for his smooth in-ring style and apple-spitting antics, had returned to WWE in 2023, receiving a massive ovation at Backlash in Puerto Rico. He went on to align himself with the Latino World Order before eventually joining The Judgment Day faction.
In his social media announcement, Carlito took a lighthearted approach, even joking about WWE wanting their money back.
Just prior to this news, Carlito was in action in Puerto Rico for World Wrestling Council (WWC), the promotion founded by his father, Carlos Colón.
With his WWE contract ending, the expectation is that Carlito will now focus his efforts back in Puerto Rico with WWC. This move would allow him to be closer to his family and play a significant role in the promotion where he first started his career.
The departure of Carlito, along with the news of R-Truth also not being expected back, marks the end of another chapter for some long-tenured performers in WWE. Fans will undoubtedly remember Carlito's contributions and his signature "cool" persona. His immediate future appears to be in Puerto Rico, where he has already captured championship gold.
